Reading your prompts aloud

Weave can speak the prompt for each phase out loud as the meeting moves along — in the main room and in every breakout room — using a pre-generated voice. Your prompts already appear on screen as cards; this gives them a voice too, so a group can keep their eyes up and still hear what comes next.

The voice is your own. The default is a clone of your voice, set up for you ahead of time, so the guidance sounds like you even in the rooms you can't be in at once.

How it works

When you save a pattern, Weave generates the audio for its prompts in the background. By the time your meeting runs, each prompt is ready to play the moment its phase begins — there's no waiting for it to be made on the spot. Edit a pattern and only the prompts whose words changed are made again, so live tweaks stay quick.

Playback happens on each person's own device. When the group splits into breakouts, everyone hears the prompt for the phase they're in, right in their room. If someone joins partway through a phase that's already underway, Weave doesn't replay it at them — they pick up from the next one.

A prompt also waits for a beat of quiet before it speaks, so it doesn't cut across someone mid-sentence. If the room stays busy it still plays after a short pause, so nothing is ever missed.

Turning it on or off

Spoken prompts are off by default — a meeting only reads prompts aloud once you turn it on. As you run a meeting, the Pattern panel has a Speak prompts out loud toggle right next to Autoplay — flip it to turn the voice on or off for that meeting, for everyone. To change your default across all your meetings, open Settings → Spoken prompts and toggle Read prompts aloud.

Anyone in a meeting can also silence the voice on their own device — tap the speaker icon on the prompt card, or open the menu on the Prompt button and turn off Read prompts aloud. That's per person: muting it for yourself doesn't change what anyone else hears, and the on-screen prompt cards stay either way.

Choosing a voice

Today every meeting uses your default voice. Picking from a set of other voices is coming soon — you'll find it in the same place in Settings when it's ready.

When it's quiet

Spoken prompts need a voice to be set up on your account. If you don't hear anything and the setting looks on, the voice may not be configured yet — your meeting carries on exactly as before, with the prompt cards on screen. A phase never waits on audio.
